wow.. well, first of all im kind of honored you write me of all people haha, but oh well why do i ship dair…
theres so many reasons really, but i think its simply because of the details in their story. everything is so carefully built up. i mean the whole journey of dair is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen on television. they started out as strangers, later being forced to interact because of Serena, then hating not each other, but what the other stood for (UES-BROOKLYN), to slowly building a bond (seasob 3-4) until finally realizing they have more in common than just their friends and families and accepting their friendship (s4-5). thats what i love about dair the most. they are friends first. they have this really solid foundation in their relationship because they have this deep connection. not only on an intellectual level but also on an emotional one.
i also really love all the little dair things we got during the years. like thanksgiving, pre s1: they first met, s1: blair visits the loft for the first time, s3: sitting next to each other during dinner+ stolen glances, s4: the beginning of the glorious dair arc. or cedric, the cabbage patch kid-thing in general, the ‘humphrey’ and ‘waldorf’ thing, the many movies, books, art exhibitions, the parallels with the age of innocence and the play itself in 2x18, the whole 18th episode thing (we always had great dair moments in the 18th episode of every season), the fact that dan wrote a short story about the person he thought serena was, but actually a whole book about falling in love with the person blair waldorf is or rather can be.
the way dan always supports blair, the way he loves her not despite of who she is but because of it.
they are happier with each other than they could ever be alone. they are the missing puzzle piece in each others lives.

if one 50 second scene of dair upsets them like that, well .. just proves that the scene was good and meaningful.
we are not infiltrating the chair tag after every stupid scene because we dont want to. what a waste of time
i wish some chair fans were nicer. there are a few, very few tbh but they are actually alright :)
