Daniel Humphrey, a failed writer, is working in the PR department for a fashion company in New York. It is here he meets Blair, and he falls in love. They become more than friends, though the relationship doesn’t last.
To deal with the heartbreak, Dan begins to write. After the finished manuscript is sent to a publisher by Dan’s best friend Vanessa, he becomes an overnight success and finally begins to move on. In the meantime Blair has fallen in love and after a whirlwind romance, marries the man, thanking Dan for showing her that love does exist.
